Cerrath (Upgrade) - (9, 2)
You find Amara rooted in fear, she stares suspiciously at even the shadows around her.
You ok?

She does not look at you directly. You see shame in her eyes, 'Robots! Why does it have to be more Robots. These ones look like women as well! I had hoped the earlier ones were just upgraded versions of the last Soulless type! I do not trust them. We must leave this area as fast as we can.'

The words echo in your ears, female robots. It surely cannot be...

You tell Amara to stay there, you must check something.

Search the area to see what these latest female robots are.

Cerrath (Upgrade) - (8, 12)
Cerrath has a low hum that permeates the entire facility, so it is odd to hear a high pitched squeal.
Investigate

You find a small robot spinning on the spot. One of it's mechanical arms appears to be broken. You reach out and stop it from its crazy rotation. Its optical sensors look up at you, 'Good job I'm not organic, or I'd puke over you! You seen those SR Splicers? They did this to me, cos I'm not humanoid in shape. I mean whats the difference, a machine is a machine, right? Who cares if you walk on legs or trundle on rollers? Well, apparently they do. Can you get that Gyro Bolt for me, it will stop me from spinning.'

You see a long silver screw on the floor next to the Droid, you pick it up and screw it into the top of the Robot. The odd bot stops spinning and flaps its broken arm, 'It looks like I need to go to Maintenance again. But before that I'm wondering if I can do you a favor as you have done me one.'

You smile down at the small droid, than ask him when the Splicers first appeared. He wriggles, his servos whine loudly, 'They turned up a few months ago. How they got in I don't know, but Resource Department suddenly could not do enough for them. Dunno why. Now they are altering our Units. I can't do anything as I'm just a Janitor Bot, but if you want to stop them I know what to do. You just need to make a Target Signature and upload it into the Cerrath Mainframe. Then all Cerrath Units will have an instant hatred of them written straight into their base programming. They will attack them on sight!'

The deviousness of the little droid astonishes you, but you are rendered speechless when it hands you a Blueprint. 'Here, the Splicers have been messing so much with the Cerrath data connections that I now have direct access to the mainframe. Which is good for us, bad for them as I can now access highly secret documents in the Cerrath Core Filestore. I can give you the SR Base Signature Blueprint. You just need to get the Signature components from the required target or, to put it more bluntly, rip out the really important bits from those SR Splicers. Bring me back the SR Base Signature and I can upload it to the relevant place in the Filestore. We should thank the Splicers really.'

You receive 1 x SR Base Signature Blueprint

Cerrath (Upgrade) - (8, 12)
The little Janitor Bot shakes its broken arm sadly, 'Oh – you got that SR Base Signature yet?'
Give Signature

The small metal Droid scans the Signature and after a few seconds it looks up at you. The optical sensors glow slightly with pride, 'Well, that’s that! I have successfully uploaded the Signature. Now all future Units made by Cerrath will attack all SR Droids on sight. I also saw the damage the SR have done. So I looked for the Factory Settings for the Main Frame, its hard coded into the chips of the Cerrath Computer systems so they could not delete it. Here, take this Cerrath 001 Cerrath System Settings. If you find a System Port, upload it and the Factory will shut down for 30 Minutes as the mainframe re-calibrates itself. Now I gotta go to Maintenance and get my arm fixed. Thanks for the screw.' He taps his head with his working arm and trundles off happily down the corridor.

You should return to Amara and tell her what you have done.

You receive 1 x 001 Cerrath System Settings

Cerrath (Upgrade) - (9, 2)
Amara storms up to you, eyes blazing, 'Where have you been! I said we should get out of here. Why have you kept me waiting here with those horrible Robots.'
Sorry about that

Amara looks away from you petulantly, 'Well tell me what you were doing.' You smile nervously at her wrath, then describe meeting the little Janitor Droid and finding out that the Female Robots have only recently arrived at Cerrath and are manipulating it. You managed to upload a piece of software into the mainframe that will cause all new Cerrath Units to attack the Female Robots on sight as well as getting the default Factory Settings for the Cerrath Mainframe.

Amara looks at you, 'You did all that? What are Factory Settings?' She might be scared, but Amara is still curious. You tell her that Factory Settings are the base settings for the Mainframe when it was new. To return the System to Factory Settings is to wipe out everything and return the Mainframe to the condition as it was when it was made. In short – fix it.

Amara frowns, 'But it will still make the Soulless, why would we fix it?' You nod, and say, 'Yes, it is a risk. But the Cerrath mainframe is corrupted. So it's making faulty Units, the Soulless. If we fix it, them it will make proper Units, ones that can be made to be your allies.' Amara's eyes go wide at the thought. 'That would be good for our tribe. Can this be done?'

You smile and say, 'We can try.'

You should try to restore the Cerrath mainframe to its 001 System Settings.

You receive 461,738 XP + 10 Skill Points
