After complaining about how Wikia "wrecked" the layout of the sector maps, I noticed/realized that the [1] page does a similar thing (without the fancy background and cells). Therefore, I'm thinking there may be a way to get a similar functionality by shrinking the displays of the various components. Just playing around here to see if/how I can do it.

    Bestiary Updates

    September 3, 2010 by Mrjoeterrace

You may have noticed that there are now categories of Category:Bestiary that are grouped by levels of 10 (i.e. 1-10, 11-20, 21-30 ...). Each of these is a sub-category of Bestiary, and I have included tables with the image, name, class, level, damage type, and areas for all of the entities within a range of areas. Overall status follows:

    Parsemap Updates

    March 23, 2010 by Mrjoeterrace

I had created a program that would generate the maps that we use for the wiki from the area maps that are displayed within the game. In the latest update, I have made the following enhancements:

    • Modifying all of the images to be the correct size was one of the more tedious parts of the process for creating an area page. The program now creates image references with size specifications. This means that you don't have to resize the images; the generated wikitext will do it for you.
    • The previous version of the program only created the map. Since there is a simple standard template to use for creating an area, The program now creates the area header as well as the map.
    • The program now allows you to specify the level, world area, mission, artifact …

    JItemset

    January 18, 2010 by Mrjoeterrace

I have worked on the test version of the ' (calling it JITemSet2) to come up with a version that uses a graphic as the background for the table. This works for the most part, except for a couple of items:

    • There is a vertical mis-alignment within the component section (on the left). The idea was to only show lines on the screen when they are requested in the template call. This appears to work, but for the vertical mis-alignment issue.
    • There are vertical mis-alignments and extra spaces for some lines within the list of set attributes. I think these issues are related.
    • There are extra black lines at the end of the set display.

    Features working as expected include:

    • hovering over the item type icons shows the link and clicking on them links to …

    World Areas

    January 5, 2010 by Mrjoeterrace

I have worked in the sandbox to come up with a couple of ideas regarding the world areas.

First, let me describe what is currently the setup. At the top of the ' and having this use the world areas matrix layout. The simple list at the bottom is nice, but conveys very little information. I know that having the two proposed new templates will mean updating in two places when a new world area comes online, but as this number is relatively low and static that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Please post comments to this blog entry if you have any thoughts. Mrjoeterrace 14:59, January 5, 2010 (UTC)
